Discounts
The office trialled two things with discounts a while ago with the following results.
The first was whereby we would put people on a last minute notice wait list. In short much as the description says the handyman would be willing to offer a discount to fill any short notice vacant slots in their schedule. What ended up happening is that none of these jobs were ever completed because they were filled with other full priced jobs, and people got really frustrated and upset with both the handyman and office simply because their jobs were never done.
The other option the handymen trialled for a really short period was for a couple of property managers that gave them thousands in work each year whereby they gave them a 5% discount. The issue was that the handymen chose the full paying jobs that were on offer and could easily fill their schedule. If a property manager and a regular client were competing for the same appointment we would be advised to book the full paying client which had the adverse effect of continually pushing back the jobs from the property managers as as above with the cancellation list these were never completed.
There is a discount available which is the discounted day rate
The day rate represents a discount off of the hourly rate that's equal to about 1 hour 'free' when compared to a day at the standard rate.
Ultimately the office are interested in booking jobs for reliable, friendly and competent handymen which also means keeping a viable rate for transport, insurance, good tools etc
