Gripit The Worlds Ultimate Plasterboard Fixings ?
I have always thought that there has to be a better solution for dob and dab walls, with a cavity not quite suitable for one of the long established plasterboard fixings and when a traditonal fixing into the wall beneath isn't quite right either.
Gripit seem to have overcome this problem with a revolutionary design and where they have seemed to have thought of every possible scenario with 4 colour coded products with differing load capacities.
They have even covered with scenario with a special tool when you end up drilling straight into the dab (though I do have to say in my opinion here presuming that I started with a small hole I would put in a traditional fixing, without the concern of pulling/cracking the plasterboard into the wall as you would normally)
One of the other major benefits that I can see is that it can also be used on insulated plasterboard.
Some of the promoted benefits are :-
- Supports heavier loads
- Able to re-use
- Auto adjust to lining thickness
- Fits insulated backed plasterboard
- Fits ceilings without timber blocking ( and I would like to add without having something sticking up an inch into the ceiling as with most traditional fixings which are often sharp and snag wires)
- No insulation fibre entanglement
- Cannot over screw
- Can be removed easily leaving a clean hole to be filled
So whats the opinion from anyone who has used the GripIt plasterboard fixing ?
